Margarita

This salty-sweet concoction is the guest of honor at many a fiesta and Cinco de Mayo celebrations! Its first recorded mention dates back to 1953 in Santa Rosa, California. However, the exact invention of this breezy drink is a mystery.

One story has it that a man named Carlos “Danny” Herrera invented it in 1938 for aspiring actress Marjorie King. Another links it to the tequila daisy, a tequila variation of a different cocktail. Whoever invented it, we’re so glad they did!

Margarita Recipe:

  •  2 ounces Blanco tequila

  •  1⁄2 ounce orange liquor

  •  1-ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed)

  •  1⁄2 ounce agave syrup

  •  Garnish: lime wheel

  •  Optional garnish: salt rim

Our special neon margarita is the go-to “drink” for creating a warm, tropical bar or kitchen atmosphere. Pair it with pastel pink walls, cabinets, or palm tree wallpaper for vacation vibes.

Whiskey Old Fashioned

The official cocktail of Louisville has been around since the early 1800s, making it almost as old as the United States! Back then, however, “old-fashioned” was a way of describing a style of mixology, not a specific drink.

As the whiskey cocktail evolved, those who disliked the changes would order an “old-fashioned whiskey cocktail” which was eventually shortened to old fashioned. It would seem that some recipes are better left unchanged, as this timeless classic survived years of attempted revision.

Old Fashioned Recipe:

  •  1⁄2 teaspoon sugar

  •  1 teaspoon water (ice melt)

  •  2 ounces of bourbon

  •  3 dashes of Angostura bitters

  •  Garnish: orange peel

If you want to infuse your space with the smooth bite of the old-fashioned, pair our LED neon sign with rich wood accents, amber lighting fixtures, and our Stroke of Luck peel-and-stick wallpaper in coconut cream.

Aperol Spritz

The concept of a “spritz” has been around since the early 1800s when Hungarian visitors to Italy would spike the strong Italian wine with a “spritz” of water. However, it wasn’t until the 1950s when the official Aperol spritz, invented by brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri, was born!

This bubbly, tastebud-teasing drink has become a summer staple since its inception. It can be found at summer soirees, garden parties, or any other outdoor event!

Aperol Spritz Recipe:

  •  Equal parts Aperol

  •  Equal parts Cinzano Prosecco

  •  Splash of soda

  •  Garnish: orange slice

Create a bubbly-sweet space with our LED neon Aperol spritz, paired with our fruity and floral wallpaper for an endlessly refreshing atmosphere!

Dirty Martini

The martini may be the quintessential cocktail, loved by icons such as James Bond, but the dirty martini is its notorious cousin. A salty, occasionally controversial twist on the dry martini, this concoction was enjoyed by the no-less iconic American President F.D.R.

Supposedly invented in 1901 when bartender James O’Conner dirtied the classic dry martini recipe with muddled olives. It may have taken a while to catch on, but this recipe has become just as beloved as its classic cousin.

Dirty Martini Recipe:

  •  2 1⁄2 ounces gin or vodka (gin for classic)

  •  1⁄2 ounce dry vermouth

  •  1⁄2 ounce olive brine

  •  Garnish: 2 to 4 olives

Light up your home bar with our LED neon rendition of the Dirty Martini. The mix of playful neon with the classic cocktail silhouette is as unexpected, and as satisfying, as the combination of the dry martini and olives!

Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary has been traced to 1920’s Paris and a young bartender named Fernand “Pete” Petiot at the famous Harry’s New York Bar. The expatriate mix of Russians who brought Vodka and Americans who brought tomato juice resulted in this brunch classic.

Famously known as the miracle hangover elixir and a staple of brunch culture, this sweet cocktail brings to mind friends, laughter, and scrumptious food.

Bloody Mary Recipe:

  •  2 1⁄2 ounce vodka

  •  3⁄4 cup tomato juice

  •  2 tablespoons lemon juice

  •  2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  •  1⁄4 tablespoon prepared horseradish

  •  1 pinch of celery salt

  •  1 pinch of black pepper

Tap into this brunch classics’ sweet history with an LED neon Bloody Mary! You’ll sit under its soothing glow with friends and family members, enjoying your own tasty tomato-infused cocktails!

Gin & Tonic

The G&T started its unlikely journey as a medicinal prescription! Quinine, the active ingredient in tonic, was found to treat malaria. British soldiers in the 1800s needed little more encouragement to indulge in a daily G&T. It wasn’t long after this that the commercial potential was bottled and sold throughout the world.

Contrary to its simplicity, the G&T has room for endless nuanced experimentation. Naturally, this creativity-rich drink was perfect for conversion into neon artwork!

Gin & Tonic Recipe:

  •  2 ounces gin (Plymouth suggested)

  •  4 ounces chilled tonic water (Schweppes suggested)

  •  Garnish: 1 to 2 lime wheels

A classic British cocktail, our LED neon G&T is perfect for creating a refined yet playful space. Its versatile design can be paired with vibrant wallpaper to emphasize the sweetness of tonic or with understated patterns to ground your space in Gin minimalism!
