Yellowpop takes Miami by storm! The grand opening of our Yellowpop store was an event as bright and brilliant as the neon signs that lit up the space. Take a peek inside our celebratory event, peruse the drinks, mingle with the special guests, and see the true stars of the evening; our neon signs and wallpaper.
The New Kid on the Block
Our new store is located in the Wynwood neighborhood, housed in a pink stretch of spaces blossoming with painted palm leaves. One of Miami’s most happening neighborhoods, Wynwood is full of art galleries, chic boutiques, trendy bistros, and is attended day and night by the young and the fashionable.
We’re not far from Wynwood Walls, a spectacular outdoor museum featuring expansive murals from renowned street artists like Triston Eaton, El Mac, Reinier Gamboa, and others.
It’s the perfect neighborhood for a pop of neon!
The Grand Opening
Let’s set the scene:
The event was catered by 11 Vodka with a cocktail list including a Miami Mu11e, Vodka Mojito, and Balagan Spritz. Speaking of Balagan—the sushi place next door—they provided the food. The guests enjoyed salmon tuna and shrimp tempura rolls, crafted in front of them with the freshest ingredients. Chillin Williams brought the music, a stream of slow techno vibes, perfect for chatting and networking beneath the inspired glow of our LED neon signs.
The guests loved our interactive elements. A retro arcade game and pinball machine were taken over by the guys, friendly competitions were held, victories were won and toasts were raised. Guests took selfies and group shots in front of our wavy neon mirror, a groovy addition. After all, if you didn’t get a photo, it didn’t happen. Am I right?
We had some special guests as well. Valentina Leon, Karina Perlaza, and Andrea Ritter from the hit Netflix show Designing Miami stopped by to take in the lights. We also had Eva Garzón, CEO and owner of the exclusive Grand Lion real estate company. Vic Garcia, a miami-based artist, paid us a visit and took in the Keith Haring and Andy Warhol signs—an artist admiring another artist.
On every wall were some of our most popular creations. A whole stretch was dedicated to the Keith Haring and Smiley World pieces, their neon signs hung on their wallpaper for the boldest presentation. Bored Ape Yacht Club neon joined the Madonna True Blue and a neon basketball hoop behind the dj, shining inspired light into the space as the sun set.
.
The star of the show, however, was our Andy Warhol collection. Guests clustered around the Campbell’s Soup Can sign, stood rapt before our Marilyn Monroe Deluxe; who hasn’t been captivated by Andy’s Marilyn? Our Cow neon sign popped against Andy’s Cow wallpaper, hung as it was in 1966. Andy was the topic on everyone’s lips and we couldn’t be happier with how our collection was received by the crowd of artists, influencers, and design lovers.
